Even though you may already have a backup routine for your computer, we want to make sure you are aware of a service called Carbonite which makes backing up so easy you never have to think about it once it’s set up!
And if you have an external hard drive in place, do you always remember to copy files to it? And, unlikely though it may be, what would happen if BOTH your computer and external hard drive were compromised at the same time? An off-site service like Carbonite would mean that you could re-download all your files to another computer — you wouldn’t lose them in a disaster!
Carbonite even allows you to test it out for free for 2 weeks without giving them a credit card just to see if you think it will work for you. It works on both Macs AND PCs, and is quite simple to set up.
If you choose not to sign up, no problem — however! PLEASE make sure you have some sort of backup for your important files. You never know how awful it is to lose them until it happens to you.
